Smmidge Style: My Favorite Shirt

This is my fave shirt.  Is it a half shirt, you say?  Well, I suppose if I wore it alone, my navel might show (eh-hem, when you are about to turn 35 a) you start using the term navel and b) you don't show your navel) so technically it might be a half shirt. But I would never do that of course (I'm far too mature. wink). I'll wear a cami or a tank or a striped tee (shown here from Gap) with it, so my navel won't show.  I really love it, it swoops down in the back, I think the shoulders and sleeves are really cute, and I LOVE the color.  It's from Betty & June.  Here I put it with some JCrew chinos, a couple of flopsy gold necklaces and my strappy Bcbg shoes (another love from last year).  It was a long day, but atleast I had my fave shirt on.  Sometimes it's the little things.
I love how the shirt swoops in the back.  Not a half shirt from behind.  And yes Buggers is walking in what should be a bed of shrubs, but alas, it is a dirt pathway.  He's in his madras shorts and his "I'm headed to Mexico" shirt.  I think we kinda work together.
He went right on past and straight to scale the fence.  Gotta go.

Pallets Made Pretty

Pallet Benches
I'm really inspired by resourceful design.  I love all these ingenius ideas for repurposing wooden pallets.  Atleast one of these projects is in my future.  Hope they inspire you too! Happy Wednesday.

The Sweetest Snake

Photobucket

My new cyber friend and fellow Molly from uber cool blog Charlotte's Fancy reminded me of my old love, Ferm Living.  Isn't Mr Snake the grooviest thing ever?  I wish all snakes were this sweet.  Hardy-har-har.  Beyond that, Ferm's art direction and branding is pure genius in my book.  That stark monotone back ground (everything painted) that makes the product pop right off.  Hearty-heart-heart.

Must Have: Rubyzaar

Fannypacks? I think not - but Rubyzaar Hip Bags?  Yes.  All the way.  I came across these while perusing an old Readymade Magazine (circa 2008), and I think they are completely rad. I mean, maybe not for the office, but definitely for a concert or, well, the zoo of course.  Just channel your inner woodstock self and go with it.  And even better, this style is called the Molly (wink wink).  They retail for $175 - leather, and SALE on the suede - $140  $100.  AND they are fair trade and beautifully made.  I just love 'em

Royal Wedding Bliss

We couldn't help but wake up at 4:45am this morning to take part in viewing Prince William and Catherine Middleton's royal wedding with over 1billion others around the world.  I felt so strongly about seeing it as it happened, 1) because I have a fuzzy but happy memory of watching Charles and Di's wedding when I was small and 2) because it isn't often anymore that we have a chance to be a part of a collective experience that is happy.  We were among a billion peeps watching two gorgeous people look lovingly at one another in what seemed like Royal Wedding Bliss, all at the same time.  Amazing and wonderful.   And of course, what sort of event would this be if it weren't for the momentos available to commemorate this day. . . here are a couple of items that don't make me gag.  And moreover, I even sort of like them.  Here's to another happy event - our collective two day honeymoon that is a weekend, yay!
