Old Shoes = New Shoes

I talked about my new pink suede oxfords that I purchased to replace these beauties that have been my faithful go-to's for the last couple of years. . . and today I decided I couldn't part with them.  So here's what I did.  I painted them.  Gold.  And it may not last because it is just the same damn spray paint I used a few weeks ago for my stumps, and I did no research to see if it works on leather, yadda yadda yadda.  But I did it anyway, and I LOVE them.  And I kinda hope it cracks a wears a little.  I'm ok with that.  But mostly I'm happy they aren't in the trash or the give-away bag because I love them, and I can't just have pink.  I need gold too.  Period.  That's just me, and I'm all about going for it this week.  (more on that soon). Happy Wednesday.

I taped the soles off so as to leave old and scruffy against the gold.

  1. This is something I've been dying to try with an old pair of cowboy boots. I'm super super interested in an update a month from now to see how they hold up, the only thing holding me back is I'm worried about the paint cracking and deteriorating too quickly. For real these look SO RAD.

  2. Thanks Katie! I LOVE them, too. Will def let you know how they hold up. You saw how beat up they were before, so my expectations are low in terms of staying perfect for long. I did absolutely no preparation. No research. Nothing. But am kinda ok with some crust and cracks. . . But if they do well, it will be even better! Stay tuned. :)
